Wait.
And while you are waiting, read the 'It's Sad' thread.
My answer is there.
You're playing the wrong game if you like this genre.
The city building part for what i see is very well done and if you play on pacific mode you can have a good time.
The combat side of things on my view, still has a lot thing that don´t work as they should.
If the combat with huge armies is what you are looking for, i say wait a couple years. They will get there.
That said, you really have to like city builders to enjoy the game right now. Fleshing out your army is a lot of fun and there is combat to be had here and there, but there is no AI city to conquer, currently.
Combat isn't great in that there isn't much of it and it's based on an 'off-map ai'.
once the 'on-map ai' is implemented I imagine it'll be great.
The city building is pretty good though. I like the dynamic markets and housing.
The artisan and family systems feel right to me.
It's not perfect but it's def worth the few dimes an hour you'll end up having paid by the time you're over it.
I think for the current early access price people will get at least 15 hours of gameplay out of it. More is always possible. Worth it in my opinion
Yeah for sure. I'm not sure I'll get any outright lies along with what one might consider troll posts so even those complaints have some value with respect to getting an idea of where the game is at. But so far I've gotten some good advice from these few comments. And yeah, I don't listen to the paid shills. (Influencers) That's why I came here after some time had passed to ask real people what they think of the state of the game. So thanks to all above.
You need to do what I did. Stop. Think about what it is you actually want and buy or wait based on that. I personally am going to wait due to being burned on a few games. One being abandoned and the other the developer took a massive turn in where they wanted to take the game and it was to a place few wanted or purchased the game for. Then there is the third game I bought...Bannerlords, 2 years after early access, they "release" the game, its still unfinished 2 years later and they added a bunch of things that just caused even more bugs the game had at "release" with the boneheads still breaking the thing that makes the series popular, the mods.
Go by what it is you personally are looking for.
If look at the situation realistically, I don't think one person will develop the game quickly. And something intelligible can happen in 2-3 years.. Of course, if he does not create some team or does not abandon the project at all
To me it feels like a great EA title which will flesh out within maybe 2-3 years. If you don't want to try the early buggy stuff, then try waiting for a year or two.
