Estimated Crop Yield
It says it's an estimated 300 yield, but I only get like 25? Am I doing something wrong?

I experience this several times when I sow at spring and never when I sow at October. Looks like game counts it wrong when sowed in spring.

Oh that's a shame. It's not really worth it then if I have 3 fields alternating crop cycles if they just give me like 40 wheat in total

Indeed, the yield of the fields is very low compared to their size. Vegetable gardens also yield less than they appear. Now, as the number of inhabitants increases, food production is becoming less favorable. Well, let's wait patiently for the situation to improve.

That's not your estimated yield, that's the days you have left to harvest. Once you miss the deadline, the yield vanishes.

No, there is a glitch that shows a high number of yield and then the days left to harvest. I just came out of the game having had a wheat field say I had 372 Yield with 301 days left to harvest. I knew it would be destroyed if I left it that long, so I harvested it in November, and receieved 32 wheat.

nah hes right. sometimes the game clearly shows an estimated yield number. its 100% not the one you are talking about. i even cross checked with my friend on discord playing this game also. i guess it must be bugged which kinda is a bummer :/

Yeah it seems like it’s bugged or something. I’m aware it’s not the remaining days cause that’s a separate section. Is it better to have smaller and more numerous fields then in that case?

Game is in pre-release. Bugs are normal. They'll be fixed.

Greetings,

From Wiki;

- There is a known issue where estimated crop yields in the month of September are inaccurate, so you won’t harvest as much as the game tells you you will.
- The fertility rating of a field at game start is the maximum fertility level that field will ever have. It will decrease over time, however you can use strategies such as leaving a field Fallow for a season and general crop rotation or using the development option to allow farm animals to use fallow fields, to regenerate fertility rating back to its starting maximum.

But the yield actually too high compared to it size. You know. You need like and acre to feed one man for year in medieval. And 2-3 acres of wheat in game can feed something like 33 families (100 people) for a year.
