Mule is one time use?

thats what i ment i sent some firewood for tools to trade between my villages... now the mule is stuck following someone while in animal trader stable :D and packstation is like "buy another one :o"

This happened to me too. It seems if you dismiss the barter guy with a mule and replace another family, the mule forever gets stuck with the previous family.

I'm having a same problem. Mules are still assigned to pack station, but stuck following other villagers, which were probably working before at the pack station. Any way to unstuck them??

its this i think and this also happened to my sheep where a storehouse worker had a pet sheep for the rest of my playthrough

The miller ran off with my mule and used him to carry grain to the windmill.

I didn't know mules had a secondary purpose outside of, erm... being a mule between villages.
