Can't conquer / claim bandit camp??? (plz tell me I'm missing something..)

I've played two separate games now where I've tried walking over a bandit camp with my militia and nothing happens (no pop up to claim the camp or text asking to send the spoils to the nearest town or treasury, nothing).

In the first game, I defeated the bandit camp's units, and tried walking over the camp directly, nothing happened. I tried so many different ways of walking over the camp (like an idiot) that the AI came up and just claimed it.
In my second game, I let the AI defeat the bandit camp's units so I could reach the bandit camp first, but same thing again as described in my first game. I literally have a screenshot on my troops literally walking inside the tents and everything but the game doesn't seem to let me claim it. I don't wanna unpause the game otherwise the AI will come up and claim it again and make me sad again.

Is there meant to be some sort of button I'm meant to press to claim the camp or something? I really hope that I'm actually just doing something dumb and that my game isn't bugged or sm. I understand the game is still early access, but also don't wanna default to blaming to game to being bugged. Would love to know if anyone else is having the same issue or if I'm missing some rlly obvious stuff. Thanks!

Don't walk over the camp, select the troops and move the cursor over the camp. When the camp highlights white click on it and the troops will march to the center of the camp. You should get the loot message then.

Make sure you chase off the bandits first (attack them with your troops until they run away and everyone cheers). Then, with your troops selected (any kind), hover mouse over the bandit camp until it gets highlighted and then right-click to tell them to attack the camp.

Guys i already chased out the troops and i still cannot claim it even though it’s highlighted with hand icon on it. Click it and nothing happened

Are you r-clicking on it and waiting for your troops to march into the camp?

From a certain point the same problem appeared. The camp is not captured, and if there are bandits in it, they ignore my troops, my troops do not attack them either. Everything worked previously. When you hover the cursor over both the camp and the bandits, it does not change.
