Tips: Farms & Field Size
** Farm - Ideal Field Size **

How the game mechanics works is:
Complete : Plow + Sow , only then the "grow" timer will start

Due to this, it is better to have 4 units of 0.5m sized fields, compared to say one big 2m size field.

** Farm - How many fields? **

1 farm-building can easily support 8 to 12 0.5m fields

** Farm - Ox **

Build 1 farm building - advance - +1 "ox"
Place 1 family

It is better to build 8x farm building with 1 family and +1 ox each than to build 1x farm building with +1 ox and 8 family

Regardless of how many family you place in the farm building, only 1 will be use to drive the single ox

** Farm - Harvest **

Ox will be use to carry "harvest" to the farm building
During harvest time, put as many people into this farm-building as you can. Your other buildings can take a break (ex: wood cutting, firewood, etc)
You have a limited 3 months to complete harvest, plow, sow

This will work when they fix the bug and force farmers to use oxen. At the moment they plow only with a hoe and do not use oxen in any way. Only free settlers plow with oxen.

Mine used oxens, but only on bigger farms. And if i did couple smaller ones the yeald was pathetic. Like.. 5 to 10 units.. nah f that.

I do not believe.
Please show me a screenshot of a farm house where it would be clear that the farmer plows with an ox, and not with a hoe.

I think maybe the output of the field needs increasing, to keep up with demand for 3 types of food using bread with only ten lvl 3 buildings I now have a vast area dedicated to wheat and its still not enough. I dont want to know what this will be like at scale to meet demand for an actual city.

I cant seem to remain stable past 500pop. I've found my harvest doesn't actually end up available. Fields are typically 5m. 3 per farm house, fully staffed with a dedicated ox.
Ill have estimated yeilds of 1.6k Rye but when harvesting is done I end up with 400-500 rye in inventory. Crashes my supply and i go from having 10-16months of food reserves to 1month in less than 4months!

Stop, stop, stop.
I don't need a screenshot of a man plowing a field with an ox. I have this too. Only for me and other players this is not a farmer, but simply a free settler who took a free ox, and not an ox attached to the farm.
We need a screenshot of the farm itself, a tab with “people”, so that it can be seen that it is the farmer who plows the field with the help of an ox, and not a hoe.

This is the problem - if there are no free people or free oxen, then no one will plow the field with the help of an ox. The ox that is attached to the farm will be idle and its status will be “waiting”, and all farmers will plow with a hoe.

I've had farmers use/plough with the oxen; it does seems a bit buggy though.

I just left zero families unassigned for a harvest and all 4 of my farmhouse oxen were in use - 2 by farmers, 1 by a manor servant and 1 by a cobbler (lol). Should probably be x4 farmers but not going to compain.

I was looking at my farm at late autum, and noticed that when the harvested field turned into the winter texture, all the grain that hadn't been hauled simply disappeared. Maybe that's hurting your supply.

No worries, the game is not designed to build cities. It is designed to build towns. Anything above 400 pop bugs out atm.
