how to get rid of the smaller, thinner trees?
i have a whole bunch of the smaller, thin trees all around my town but i can't cut them down and the shrub eraser tool doesn't get rid of them. they're not trees that were planted by foresters, they seem to have just appeared out of nowhere. is there a way to get rid of them manually or can they only be removed by placing down buildings/fields/etc on them?

There's a shrub removal tool, its at the end of one of the construction tabs, cant remember which one, sorry, may work...

Maybe the woodcutter (firewood building) would cut down these thinner trees?
If not then yeah, only building something on top seems to remove them.

i'll give that a try, thanks

EDIT: nope, that didn't work either. yikes. hopefully they'll add the option to cut them down, they really interfere with making an aesthetically pleasing town

Pure comedy gold! :-)

Has anyone ever seen this small trees grow? If they grow to regular trees, it could be an error to remove them everywhere just for cosmetic reasons. Beside that, I don't have an better solution than placing and destroying fields, also.

they don't grow to regular trees, no. i've had them hanging around for in-game years and they've stayed the same size the whole time

i didn't consider placing fields and then destroying them to get rid of the trees. that's a great workaround, thank you!

build a pasture or farm over the area, then delete it.

I'm also trying to make an aesthetically pleasing town.
I found that by shrinking the forester work area you can plant single trees.
But placing multiple trees along a road for example is difficult because initially it leaves no mark where they are planted.

And to make adjustments you have to wait for them to grow and then cut them down again and plant in a different spot. Time consuming but it can be done. :)

i found this out yesterday and it's done wonders with making my towns look nice lol, you can sort of do the same with the woodcutter camps but in my experience it doesn't work very well and i just wish there was an option to select certain trees and cut them down

thankfully for the smaller trees that can't be cut down, placing a field over them does get rid of them, and then you can just destroy the fields. so problem solved there
