How are People Modding the Game Already?

I saw that Manor Lords already has a few dozen mods on Nexus, and I just want to know how the modders are doing it. I think they have some kind of an external script running, but I have no clue and would really like to know. If the process is easy enough, we might get early mod support and extra content through it.

Have been trying to use UE4 to mod the portraits but so far have not been able to mod the game.

IMO modders should respect developer = if developer tell you not to mod, do not mod. Lack of that respect can be considered as hacking.

except modders are fixing problems before the developer so why not...

Very few developers are against modding. Unless it's literal cheats in a multiplayer game. Greg is also fine with it.

I'm not so sure that it's a bad thing. Some of these modders are playing around with different balancing options and working on fixes for some of the current bugs. As long as the modders communicate with the developer, it should speed progress on the game.
