FPS question
This game has some really nice graphics, from my perspective, probably one of the best I've ever seen for any strategy game.

I'm getting between 45-60fps, and it's really playing very stable and enjoyable at this level.

What sort of FPS are you all getting and is that satisfactory for you to enjoy the game?

13-15 on high and ultra settings. (this is not sarcasm or a joke, I'm just playing on my laptop)
The thing is that if I set the game to low, the increase in FPS is only 1-3 frames, so it doesn’t change the essence.
but yes, I still enjoy the game, although not as much if I had at least 30 frames.

around 30 fps on ultra. im fine with that in such a game, not in a shooter tough.
and my GPU is not the newest. 5700 XT

Since I can hold a stable locked 60 (around 80ish if I unlock it), at 4k using DLSS/Quality, and looks great + has been completely (PC) stable for me at least, yes it's satisfactory. I'm not someone who cares about more than that - especially for this kind of game. If it ran at a smooth 4k 30fps I'd be fine too.

Edit: I use a 4k 55" TV. I like gaming on giant screenspace more than mega fps.

i capped 60 fps with 3050ti laptop 40w dlss quality and ultra settings. and post processing mid and Shadow high
But with a city with 200 people now i get 40/50 fps. mostly because my cpu laptop can't get more tdp because overall is 100w charger. 1920x1200 not 4k,

Full ultra and TAA, 4k resolution 50% on a big samsung TV, GTX 1080-> 59 fps dropping to 30 rarely or 20 if biiig drop.
45 fps is the minimum for me for ML.
But it depends on games.

I've gotten up to 200 population, fps hasn't dropped yet. I'm sure it will but I don't know when. I'd guess it might be at a population higher than I care about making a settlement be. Right now it's hard to imagine I'd care much past 500-600pop. >.>

Btw, what is "Bounced Light Approximation? Is that a different term for a lighting type setting I'm used to having a different moniker?

All on Ultra etc. Vsync on, constant 75 fps even in big city. 3700x, 4060ti, 32gb ram. Its really optimised for a game made by one guy. Only time i get a fps drop for some seconds is when sun goes down, i think there is a memory leak and some optimisations on shadows.

I'm playing at 1440p and like you on a large 4k TV (my eyes are shot and this is just much more comfortable).

I agree, FPS definitely not as huge an issue on games such as this in comparison to say shooters (which my eyes and reactions now are far too slow for, other than hll) but its nice to scroll around and zoom in and out smoothly whilst still having everything set reasonably high ( I assume it autodetects om the first install? I left everything as is other than just turning the shadows down a notch).

It's running really well so I would say graphics wise this dev has done a fantastic job for it to be so stable and still looks so good.

Good to know it's stable when population increases as I did wonder if this would have a drastic impact like some games do, when things get busier FPS can drop real big, real quick.

I'm not sure what bounced light approximation is but I'm sure someone here will.
