i know its early access but can't claim land despite 2000 influence?

i already restarted the game...can't claim land and expand out of my starting province.

in what way are you unable to claim it? like it doesnt let you select the option when you zoom out to the region map? or did you not send troops over? or you cant afford to build the settler camp?

i cant claim it, like when i hover over the 2,000 influence to claim button its greyed out and doesn't light up, like i dont have enough points or something. so yes when i zoom out

kk it unglitched. how the ♥♥♥♥ am i ever supposed to beat the ai when they have a total war sizez army and i have like 36 surfs

By the time you have 2000 influence you should have an army of over 100 and a retinue of 24.

yeah no where near that. i have a massive pop of 184 people but resource wise...we're struggling

I thought I had this same problem, but while it said 2k influence under my character information, I actually didn't (I realized this when I tried to declare war and it shows my actual total). After waiting for it to go up a bit more using tithe, I was finally able to claim with influence and start a battle for it. Could also have been a bug on yours, but this is what I noticed!

Just keep at it, make sure you got them vegetables and chickens going and enough wood to chop through the winter. More people means more mouths to feed, but also more job slots that can be filled to make things run more efficient!

it happened again afterwards, seemed to just go away on its own

Saving leaving game and coming back seems to fix alot of issues right now. For some reason it doesnt seem to update things as you play.

I dont get it I have a massive army now but where is the enemy army im on the 1v1 i declared war with him but i realize he doesnt have a base on the map

I actually did this on my first play through. Had to adjust things the second time through.

I rushed the bandits to gain coin and influence, then basically challenged the Baron's very first claim and beat him with Mercenary's. This gave me a free region without spending influence. Also, if he bribes you, it is considered a stalemate. You don't get the region, he doesn't get the region and you might profit a little from your spending on mercenaries. (to cheese it to have enough mercenaries, I wait till the end of the month, then grab them before new ones are available. I've also had a glitch where any time I reload, it renews the mercenaries. I used that in subsequent claim challenges). I've been able to conquer all unclaimed territories but one (which I leave so he doesn't challenge my territories while I build up my strength. I haven't seen the end battle, but I heard it is more intense than when you challenge his claims.

Also, if you create retinue before gaining 6 militia, you can't form new militia, but you can gain retinue. There is no way to get rid of retinue. I heard of a youtuber who fought the Baron with 5 militia and 6 retinue (and mercenaries?). Another tip, is that you can form militias in your settlements without any of the weapons, etc, I still only have 3 militias with 2 militia placeholders I haven't equipped, and 4 retinues.

I don't know if it is a glitch, but I waited to meet him on the battlefield 60 days once and he ended up spawning a second army. Very scarey, lol. I fought it anyway. If you meet him on the field of battle, it starts and I haven't had to worry about it since.

I really love this game. Even with early access bugs, it is gorgeous and fun.

Did you declare war on the baron directly? Or try to claim one of his home regions (clicking on the region from the high map and clicking claim with influence)? The baron never has a base. His units just spawn from off the map. I have never declared war on him, but any time I challenge his claims, his units spawn.

Happened to me that Influence on the upper right corner showed 2K, but when I clicked on the map was actually influence 1996 and NOT enough to claim the land. Had to wait another month.

Which playthrough is this for you? It took me several restarts before I got everything figured out enough to have my timings lined up. Build that Trading Post early and trade everything that is even remotely over what you need. Got 6 months of firewood? Sell 3 months of it! Sell sell sell, and get your army equipped!
