No New Families Joining
I meet all of the requirements for getting new families, but number of families stays the same (as of right now, my number of families is currently 37 and I've had higher in other saves, so I know I haven't met the cap).

Approval is at 90%, there are plenty of empty houses for new families to move in to, but for several months number of families has stayed the same.

I've tried reloading and restarting the game, but nothing is fixing it. Do I need to start a new game, or does anyone know of a workaround for this bug?

Have multiple months gone by? Sometimes you have to wait, but I assume you've tried that. Might be one of them bugs, sorry if so!

Yeah, almost a whole year has passed. If I have to start a new game, oh well. Just have to hope it doesn't happen again and I have to restart again lol

Your save might be bugged if this is the case. Reloading doesn't solve issues like this.

hopefully not! I've only had two playthroughs so far and haven't seen the issue yet but I'm sure others have it, being EA and all.

My main issue was people remembering their homelessness from 7 months ago so new families wouldn't move in haha

They are homeless is their old problem. Why effect current mood. Infact they should feel more happy

Their previous homelessness affects their mood for only a few months (maybe a year, I haven't tracked it). It'll go away after some time.

I'm having the same issue. 10 empty houses, approval way over 50, but for months on end no new families joining.

I may be wrong here but i have observed that your taxes do effect the no of families living in your village/ town. If taxes imposed from your Manor are too high then not only new families will not come but existing families will also start to flee away.

Have you positive approval at the first day of the month? If you have 49 at 1st day and 90 at the end it doesn't matters. You need to get green at the first day. And in some corner cases with huge legacy debuffs it's possible to have very high approval during the month and 50- at the start.
Also there is a bug with rebuilded homes. If it was destroyed and rebuilded sometimes villagers don't understand it and you need to demolish it and build from scratch.
