Is there a way to have the camera follow a particular unit / person?

For example if i just want to follow the ox around - can i lock the camera to that and zoom in and just watch it work or do i always have to manually guide the camera?

Go to the building where the target animal or person works from, click either the "People" or "Livestock" tab as appropriate, then click the circular portrait for them and the camera will follow them as long as you only zoom and rotate the camera. If you "move" then it'll stop following and you'll have to do it again.

yes, click on the house where they live (or work place), then on the name, it follows, you can put cinematic view too
