2.I think they can not "plant" in winter, but in reality later than spring has no sense except you just want at least some of it no matter the loses.
hover your mouse over it, it shows exactly what season is for what.
harvest starts at the start of autumn. followed by plowing, also in autumn, followed by seeding also in autumn.
then winter passes without anything happening, then your crops start growing in spring and summer, then you start the harvest again at the start of autumn.
Is it 1 Familiy = 1 morgen or different?
i have not looked that deep into it, but i could make a guess based on the naming.
morgen means "Morning"
this unit of measure was called this way because 1 morgen denoted the amount of land "1 adult male behind an ox dragging a 1 blade plough could work in 1 "morning" amount of time."
so 1, morgen per family sounds about right i think, i have no actual idea if its actually like this in the game though.
You can only estimate that yourself.
Personally I get 6-8 familes to do the job within a month. They can do 3 x 1 morgen. This is all by hands.
