i cant buy mercs (they dont exist since year 2) and i cant recruit more? is it a bug
doesnt matter, you can ust stand still for 2 mins before a fight and it regens
they wont attack for as logn as it takes to regen, thats a non issue, my issue is sheer numbers. have you actually got to this point cos only 4% of players have beat the last region.
Firstly, build a manor in every region you have a settlement and build the tower, and this way you'll get multiple groups of 24-36 size retinues. Buy them better armour from the retinue panel. That's enough to get a hell of an iron fist. Use these as your core, with militia on the flanks, and wrap around the enemy.
If outnumbered, use one unit to distract and get chased by 2-3 enemy units, and you can hit their army with yours, and hopefully have enough to take that 2-3 enemy units once they get back. It's hard to micro it though.
Don't bother using archers, use melee only for this build at present (see date of my comment if you're reading from the future, as this may change), and also walk your army there instead of run. If they get there tired, they get there dead.
thanks, will give it a shot, i was wondering about multiple manors, do they create individual retinue units from each region?
Question answered already i appreciate your input, but this isnt Total war and your screenshot was of mass archer which is OP against AI in TW.
Yes, at least they did for me. By the time I beat that same level I had three full retinues. But the downside is you can only spawn them in the actual area they are from, so it can take some planning to have all your guys arrive at the battle at the same time.
yeh been trying to play about with the whole inter regional trading/bartering system, main town has 2000 people in it.
Mother of god. Shame you can't Soviet Russia it and just run 2000 unarmed peasants at them haha.
Well, am I the only one who has infinite crashes...I cannot even play the game properly... I am at my second area and each time I try to do something in my new area ( After building a few houses and some other buildings) it keeps on crashing. Even If I raise my militia, it crashes... The game is very nice, but at this stage I find it unplayable.
