Do berries disappear if forest is cut? How close can I go

My settler's started right next to some berry bushes and it's nice to have them close but they're also a bit in the way of expanding. So I've been wondering do the berry bushes disappear at some point if they lose enough woods around them. I've been dependent on them so I haven't tried cutting the trees yet.
I guess same mechanic goes for wild animals too, if they disappear with the trees I mean.

I can confirm that berries do start reducing in numbers when enough trees get cut down. As to whether they outright disappear, I've yet to test out.

The berries get cut down if you are cutting trees near them and if you have anything near the animals they will migrate all the way across the map. I have found it is best to only have a gatherer near the berries and a hunter near the animals and nobody else working in those areas.

Make sure you build the gathering camps outside of the red circle surrounding the resources and do not hunt all of the animals or they will be gone forever. I limit my hunted animals to 5 so they have time to repopulate.
