Tavern doesnt seem to work properly
Hi,
wondering if anyone else has a problem wit hthe tavern.
i have a medium town and most the time people complain for lack of entertainment. I have over 100 ale in store but the tavern (with 3 families working it) never has more than 1-2 ale in store?

I have a similar problem (my town population is 120) - I wonder if I need a second tavern.

try to check where the family workers are going, they likely path to storage and get the ale, maybe it is very far away?

I am having the same problem. I built the tavern right next to the trading center, the main storage building, and the granary. All are connected by roads.

I have 45 ale in the trading center just sitting there. I have a family assigned to the tavern, I even had two and three families at times assigned to the the tavern and still nothing.

My happiness is at 84%, so maybe people are so happy they not drinking, lol.

Can't make the darn third, level three burgage plot to save my life, due to ale problems.

I can't get not one customer to come to the tavern.

I was going to dress a lady in a chicken suit with a sign saying FREE ale. Offer, a steak lunch, no cover charge, buy one wench dance get one free. Anything to get this tavern going.

I just built a huge burgage behind the tavern to house the family, maybe this will work. Then plan to build in the backyard a brewery extension.

Any ideas?

Alright I think I have a solution.

Build a granary somewhat near the tavern.
Under the advanced tab, set the granary to only grab ale and nothing else. (If you have any other granary's don't let them take any ale)

And that should be it. (I also built another trading post but I don't know if that's necessary.)

I think it also helps if you have more people working the granary.

Hope that works cuz I know this was pissing me off.

ok, I will try this. sounds like something which will probably work out :)

well i think i figured the problem out.
ale is carried in barrels. because its huge barrels people carry ONE barrel at the time but apprantly a single family instantly drinks the entire barrel. so the tavern never manages to get enough barrels in if the town is bigger because well: ONE BARREL AT THE TIME

So I fixed my tavern problem. Being my first game, my town design was not planned out well.

The large burgage I built behind the tavern, that can house two families, and had room to create a brewery extension helped a ton.

NOTE: It takes time for the workers to settle in and get a work routine going.

The family assigned to the tavern, will depart and go retrieve ale from the storage area and from the brewery extension close by. Then customers started to show up at the tavern, sit down, eat and drink ale. it not a giant block party but more like a bed and breakfast.

Eventually I was able to upgrade to three burgages to level three and get a new tech.

Don't be afraid to demolish building and redesign your settlement.

Tavern is the final step in a production chain.

1) Barley -> Malt
2) Malt -> Burgage tavern beer
3) Burgage product -> Tavern

I´ve seen, that the granary workers take the beer from the tavern back to the granary.

I fixed my problem by constructing a second Tavern next to a second trading post and all of a sudden, the ale flowed into both Taverns. This works if you are importing most of your ale to keep the peasants happy.

Not sure if I have the same issue, but I think my citizens are just drinking too much. Something seems not right!

I fixed this issue in my town by forbidding all granaries to accept ale. So only the breweries and the tavern are storing ale. Works fine. As per my observation 2 breweries (lvl3) with constant malt supply can supply a town with 2.000 population.

Side question :

I've seen that the only job for tavern worker is to fill the tavern with ale. Once it's full they are just "waiting".

Is this correct or am I missing something ?

That's pretty much it. Might be a good place to stick families who live in burgages with large vegetable gardens. They ought to have plenty of time to tend their gardens, and since they are Assigned, they won't be heading off to the far-ass side of the map to lead an ox.

A village of 182 peeps running smoothly .. and I can't have the third plot up to lvl3 because that bloody tavern doesn't take the ale lying around in granaries. Importing Ale by the bucket, workforce enough, all assigned, livestock enough, carts enough, got a brewery on a lvl2 plot (ale from malt).
Tried putting a granary right near the tavern (disable market stall option) disabled ale in all other granaries .. just ZERO ales are coming to the tavern .. frustrating.
This is clearly a bug OR a lack of clarity in the management interface of the resources.
I have lvl1 plots not having water, that are in between 2 lvl2 plots having water .. just to say:
this game is nice and beautifull, but this behaviour is game-breaking .. and this problem has been around for months now .. I wonder if the devs are still alive, or if this game was just over-hyped. The potential is there .. just not yet.
