depending on your crop. When you select the building tab, on the right side there is different overlays you can see that will show you where the best yeild for different crop is

yea but that is my question... i see colours... red, green, yellow.. Yellow brow... but the crops i can use only say in letters what it is.. "barley, weat" etc.. it does not Show me what colour is for what crop.. it doesnt tell me wich one is best on the green, or the yellow.. and so on...

also when i tried on my other game to grow some weat, it estemated that i would get 700. i only got about 50..

There are no colors for crops. The overlay buttons show the soil quality for those particular crops. Once you place a field you can see the % of quality for the various crops there as well. Also, for the low yield, you might have not had enough workers harvesting the crop, you only have about 2 months to harvest otherwise you lose it all.

oh i see so green is always good but it might chance place when i change to another plant.. got it. i read on the internet btw that farmers dont do anything during summer time in the game. does that mean that i can asign them to something else during summer time or i should still keep them as farmers? <3

Correcto-mundo. Green means its fertile soil for said plant and red means its crap for the plant. Usually how it goes in most RTS games.

what about summer time when the crops grow and the families does nothing? can i asign them to work somewhere else during that time or should they Always stay as Farmers?

I havent played enough to know if thats a good idea or not. If they dont maintain the fields or anything during the summers I dont see why not. I take a family off wood chopping for firewood when I get a good stock of it and assign them where I need a family elsewhere. I also unassign the farmers during winter when they cant grow anything. Its a good idea in general but yeah not sure if they need to interact with the fields at all when its growing, will have to keep an eye and try it myself. Good thinking.

ah alright! =) Yea i would asume that winter is winter.. but summer might be different.. i havent build any fields yet, i played 8 hours yesterday and had to restart cause i ran out of food.. everything on my map was RED.. so could not farm.. my wild animal hunters could not hunt "for 5 in game YEARS" they didnt repopulate.. said 10/20 all the time

I feel I'm missing something when it comes to fertility, I've put fields down on green areas, but crop fertility is showing at like 50%, is that normal? Also of the overlay options which one does Wheat fall under?

"Emmer" is Wheat, well it is a type of wheat. Not the kind we usually use today.
