New ox wont go to stable

Does anyone know how to fix ox not going to your stable?
I've seen similar post saying they don't know where they are, and ive found that they are stuck at the livestock trader but no matter the amount of families i place there, they wont lead them to the stable. Not sure if there is even a fix for this

Something similar happened to me when I updated a hitch post to a stable. An ox was hanging about and I got a notification about there being "not enough stables". Moving the hitch post didn't help, so I demolished it and built a new one. The ox finally walked there all by his silly self.

I am having numerous weird issues with oxes. The Livestock trader seems to act like a stable but there is no way of 'tranferring' livestock between hitches/stables. I am just treating it as a hitching post because people come and take the ox from there to haul stuff and then return them, but I can't get the same two out. Any new livestock are auto assigned to those spare hitches.

You can upgrade the hitch posts to stables.
(Have no idea if that's even close to what you meant)

I'm getting the "not enough stables" notification too. I've built 2 hitching post, upgraded to stables, i have 3 ox when i have enough for 4. i think its a bug or I'm doing something wrong

I've got 2 ox living at the livestock traders. they refuse to go to their stable

Right so the fix for this is connect it to the road network, so press R and then connect your stable to the road and your animal will walk to the existing stable.

I had also more or less the same issue. I bought an ox too much and after building enough hitch post it said that the ox is following but was nowhere.

I was purchasing ox, thought they weren't being added - realised they were being added to stables in the order I built the stables, regardless of which stable I purchased the ox at - might be what's happening with you.

I built two hitching posts and now have one ox taking up permanent residence at the trader.

From my experience it seemed like a horse uses a stable slot in a hitching post/stable AND the slot in the trading post so you maybe are over the limit... Check at the top. there is a horse shoe and if you hover on it it will tell you how many stable places you have.

I came to the above conclusion because this count was always 2 greater than what I needed to get the notification to go away, and the trading post has '2 stable places' but i think that is the issue.

Ox and horses are bugged af.

If you buy a horse/ox without having a space in a stable for it, be prepared for a unremovable "not enough stables" notification, even if you build tens of thousands of hitch posts/stables.

all my buildings are connected to roads. I've got all the wrong animals in the wrong builds. it's like the game shoved them where ever a livestock could go regardless if its the correct building. I've got a mule and a horse at the stable
