Isn't the Map too small?

It seems the Map is a bit too small i know it has regions but it still looks way too small.
kinda like a Age of Empires Map.
So do more regions get unlocked the more you progress or not?

It means that at this moment of time it is the only (single) playable map.

It does look like more maps will be added. You can see it in the game settings menu. It's just we only have one map currently.

I don't think we need more maps, we need simply bigger maps plus more regions. I played against one other guy and he conquered the whole map in less than 2 hours while i was still in the first region.

The game is set up to expand to all 9 zones. The map is so much bigger than you think when you actually play. To get the most out of the game, specify your villages so each as a specialty. The progression system is set up to push you to expand to unlock everything.

So looking on a screenshot map instead of ingame map is different? In which way?

It has 9 Regions sure but this game is supposed to be a City Skylines + Total War Game
Which means AI has to build cities and craft armies too and when that happens there is not much room for yourself.
Game certainly needs a much more bigger map atleast twice or 3x the current size.

The AI is off map. All regions are free for you to build on once you claim them. The AI armies spawn at the edge of the map and they will fight bandits. That's basically it.

The battles look pretty much like Total War to me
