Paying dead mercenaries

Hi all! I hired mercenaries, and in the first battle I deliberately let them go forward so that they would die and I would no longer pay them. But after their death, I still pay for their maintenance. Bug?

The problem is that this squad does not exist, it died

save your game, exit to the main menue and reload the save

Nope, still paying the dead.

I have the same bug. A temporary work around is to let your treasury run dry and not pay them. That'll stop it from trying to pay the mercenaries. The only issue is that you lose a slot to hire mercenaries from.

Yeah, well it really sucks, i am playing Restoring the peace on challenging and i wanted to get the achievement while playing only with mercs. I cannot attack a single province, i am stuck with 2 melee and 3 archer units.

Hope this gets fixed soon, and the save games will still work

i had the same issue. i hired 2 new mercenary groups and the old ones were gone.

Have the same bug, I'm paying the long dead local thugs every month.
Not only that, but it seems they are also blocking new mercenary companies to be recruited, so ever since they died, i can only hire 2 companies.

I can confirm the bug still exists and reloading doesn't fix it, anyone know a fix or should I just play with the handicap.

I also experienced this, one of the local thugs (I think) mercenary units died in battle and i keep paying them. The other mercs who died didnt have this problem

Did they all die? Or was there 1 or 2 that broke and fled the field?
- This could be the issue, still alive but off map.
