There's a bug currently that if a house gets destroyed by the AI, even if you rebuild the plot, villagers won't move back into the plot and they freeze to death willingly.

Ah that would explain it ^ I have 5 villagers like this right now. My village was half burnt down by raiders so I presume this bug is affecting me.

There area a few game breaking bugs right now but as mentioned above the house rebuild bug is probably the most serious. Once villager homes get burnt down you basically have to restart.

Can't you just clear the plot and build a new house instead of rebuilding the burned one?

Do villagers actually get cold? I never knew that lol

Yea this is happening to me too, my village got raided, I rebuilt everything and the first winter I get the notification that a bunch of villagers are freezing and no matter how many burgages I build they won't move in. Sad times.

When the raiders started burninating all the peasants' homes, I nearly did a load. However, I wanted to see things through. Now a few winters later after losing villagers to the cold, I looked a little closer to find out why they were freezing. I noticed that under the "Total Population" icon, there were a few discrepancies that hinted that something was wrong.

Time to hit the restart button.

Thx BKind for the heads up on the bug issue.

ya it keeps showing 8 people cold even if i have enough firewood and clothes and burgage plots after rebuilding. pretty frustring cuz my approval rating then doesn't go up

Just to say, I have this happen in total sandbox mode on one or two towns, too. No one destroyed any houses. No bandits, etc.

They are working and freezing. Two of them. I just figured ... it was winter, and they didn't have a jacket. lol

If you destroy the building to build a new one, or a fire destroyes the house, you get the freezing people too. New families move in but the old one stays out in the open.

Can I wait for the displaced folks to freeze to death?

No. They'll complain about life, walking like crippled ghost around your town, but never actually died.

There is an option to solve it.
You have to destroy house they're assigned to. Then reload the game (it's important).
Then, after reloading, you'll see 2 homeless notifications.
Simply build 2 houses, problem solved.
Cheers, that's great! (Shame the building in question is a level 3 double plot!)

Actually I've managed to move them back after the bandit raid - You need to:
1. Rebuild old house;
2. Demolish it;
3. Build a new house IN THE SAME place. then they return back.
