And what's also great is the option to turn "bad weathers effects" off doesn't actually work. It doesn't do anything. So eventually, every village will experience this permanent bug.
So in it's current form does this generate a minor happiness penalty but you gain workers that don't need a house, but then in the long term is a guaranteed death spiral because presumably eventually the homelessness penalty will get so large it wipes you out?
If the bugged families just died during the winter it would 'fix' itself, assuming the rest of your settlement hadn't been so trashed in the initial event as to become unviable.
Unassign and re-assign them to the building/house.
EDIT: Sorry, that's for the workplaces. They moved into the re-built homes once I reloaded the save.
Seems like yet another part of the game that CAN work as intended, but is pretty fragile so also may just bug out.
Yea that can't be right. I had another issue with raids aswell. After burning down my village a second time they never left and so the villagers were in a constant state of panic so I could never regain control of anything. Oh well, we'll have to wait for a big patch.
When a house burns down, it get's automatically rebuilt. But what happens, a new family will move in there before the existing family can take residence back.
Then even when you build new houses, new families move there and homeless family, due to the fire, is still out in the cold.
I noticed that if you look up a person/family that is affected by this issue (best to do it in the winter as then they are shown as being cold), it points to their old house as their residence, even though other family lives there now.
So what I did, I built some new houses and destroyed that housing plot that has the conflict.
This seems to free both current and previous family from being associated with that lot and they moved to new housing.
