The game is shutting down
Hi,

I bought the game and started playing after 15 minutes my computer shut down. The computer's features are above the minimum system requirements and runs the game on ultra settings. So, I don't think it is related to the hardware. Anyways, after the first shut down I updated my pc and GPU but the game shut down again. Then, I downloaded FanControl app the rise the fan speed and make the pc cooler because the game makes my computer so hot. The problem is this did not work either. Also, at my last attempt of running the game the computer shut down after 2 minutes. So, my computer didn't even have any chance to get heated... This only happened with Manor Lords. Anyone who has the same problem? Any recommendations?

Thanks.

If your PC is just shutting down thats not the game. Now before you say "ITS ONLY MANOR LORDS" well that because manor lords is straining something in your system causing your system to shut down which your system should not be doing.

Normally random shutdowns happen due to major overheating which you already said you're not getting. Or VRM's on the motherboard tripping (aka they are going bad) or most likely PSU is wearing down and when the hard load from the game hits its just going "nope" and trust me i know of that due to i have helped my GF with her PSU going bad recently with same issues and a family member last year with same symptoms. Least likely is GPU because if it was GPU you would probably see other issues.

Lastly if your GPU has more than 1 power connector make sure you're not daisy chaining from the PSU side which can also cause this......I know personally from many years ago doing that mistake and it made games randomly shut down or pc turn off.

So all in all its not the game. The game is just using as much resources it wants. something in your system is making the shutdown happen. If you cant figure it out then maybe put a FPS limiter on. Which the game has in the options menu.

It absolutely is something to do with the game. I run plenty of games at Ultra in 1440p with a 3080 and i9 10900k with a 1500w PSU and I'm getting these shut downs.

I'm running similar specs as yours, and I'm not getting these shutdowns. The game does cause my GPU to run hotter than normal, because it's very likely not optimized yet (expected), so yes. The issue is your hardware. Check your system, something is causing your system to say nope and shut down - yes, the game is a partial cause but it's not the game itself, it's your hardware.

Different game but I had a similar problem with Helldivers, I changed the game to play in windowed no border and it never crashed again, maybe try that. Just a thought I know thats a shot in the dark
