There doesn't seem to be any management of Ox locations at present beyond just where you build posts/stables, would be nice to see that come in the future so we could have spare spaces around the village and move Oxen around to be closest to the locations we expect them to work as needed.
had the same issue for ages, 2 oxen and 5 sheep staying there, today i destroyed the trading post for animals, and people came to take the oxens and the sheeps finally moved to the pasture, ( only 3 sheep remained as 2 escaped in the nature apparently ).
I only i had discovered this earlier ....
Now will rebuild the trading post and see what happens next time ....
fair enough , ty . i will for another time make sure to build that second ox before i do the stable just to have it hitched were i want it , until or if there is a change to that then.
have not had a problem with the sheep tho. only the oxen, but i mite do that, dismantle the trading post .
gotcha,, thank you .
did you look in your animal trader stable ?
this is not a big concern for people who take the sheep breeding development since they will populate themselves, but oxen will never do that so they will stay in the livestock trading post until it overflows or is deleted. that said from my observations those oxen cooped up in the livestock trade post are still being used as long as your stable has more than one worker in it, some more testing/observation will be needed to confirm this with certainty.
edit: sheep in the livestock trader also get sheared by the sheep farm, so there's that.
i can say i did something else in regards of that, just pause the trader and the ox will go to the hitching post when ordered from there.
i did some testing on this and it can be hit or miss in some cases, if the ox was ordered from the livestock trader then it will in all likelihood perish while in the trader, but if it was ordered from a hitching post/stable then once the ox arrives at the livestock trader you pause it, it will likely be transferred over to a hitching post. unlike sheep it wont just go there on its own.
