Are they actually homeless or is it just a lingering homelessness approval debuff that your residents are still upset over?

Same here, might be a bug.

Mine live in the first tent camp (I did upgrade it for them)

Try demolishing that. I seem to recall that being a source of a debuff, perhaps fairly called homelessness.

I've got a situation where I had to rebuild a few houses after a raid. And I dont have homelessness but I have more families than I have housing.

So yes, something is off about the housing situation, but its early access for a reason.

Demolish your starter working camp. They will move in to those free houses rigth away. That is waht i did and it worked like a charm, also new families keep on comming every now and then. The system of housing works.

Which is fine.... but they should be homeless, and mine were not. No new squatter tents either.

The homeless counter is definitely bugged, or at the very least lingers longer than it should.

I've seen people recommend to save and restart the game and wait a month of in-game time. In my case, the counter went from -5 to -2. lol.

destroy them. they arent proper house, so you get homeless debuff. and if you upgrade the tent, they wont move to houses.

It's because you used the "build back better" option. Sorry

Destroy the Workers Camp and they'll be forced to move into your houses.

Greetings,
After you have enough homes built, the workers camp will disassemble.
The initial workers just need a location to move into. There's also audio clues from them saying, "tomorrow I get a house", or something similar.
- I didn't see any bug with it staying, just need enough housing for them.

Ps: Don't upgrade the work camp, it's a negative for approval. The upgrade is designed for placing a work camp on New territory then upgrading it.
Just info,

It's not a bug. It just takes time for settled in residents to lose the debuff from being homeless. Usually at least a year if not more. I think up to 3 years after the initial homelessness.
