Reassign the ox from one hitching post to another?

So I was going to assign the ox to another hitching post, but can't find any way. So I deleted the hitching post with the ox. But the ox continued to work without the hitching post and wasn't assigned to the new one.

Do we need hitching posts at all?

Yes you do. If you have fewer posts than ox then the ox will (possibly) run away. Especially if you assign your last unassigned family to a workplace other than hitching post and they just leave the ox wherever it is at the time.

So basically if no one is currently using the ox and it is not tied to a hitching post, bad things can happen.

So, is there a way to assign the ox to the hitching post? There is this Icon to order a new one, but that is not what I want. Then there are four tabs at the bottom, one of them called "livestock" but they are all empty. Nothing to click on.

If there's no way to do it, there should be. (on the off chance a dev or moderator reads this)

I cannot find any way. My bet bet is to use the "move" feature. You can demolish a stable to send them to the general pool, but there is the risk they will be lost.

Yeah I ran into the same issue when I wanted put a hitching post next to my farmhouse for the dedicated ox. But one of the oxen from my other stables got assigned to the farmhouse and was therefore housed super far away. Couldn’t figure out a way to move him to the other post so he’d stay close to the farm.

i have the same problem. Can't find option to reassign ox

I tell them to move the hitching post, then cancel and just rebuild it in the old spot. Sucks but they move from the one post to one with a slot in meantime. But I never ahd to move them after the first intial bit. Like I never really settled next to where it puts the first on I find better spot to condense on so one the things I do build a second one, then order move the old one and either let them build a new empty one, or just cancel the building site...
