The apples just in the houses' pantries. At first I though I need to assign more families to the granary and have more food stalls. No effect. I think you can only sell the apples atm.
ngl i think the orchard should be a farm, would love peach, apple and plum orchards

Bruh... unlock orchard in tech tree and your houses can utilise them, its not on farms.
Nah, the apples are being produced fine and stored in the houses but nobody will eat them, that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful lol, spent 100 coins on them early thinking it would be a good investment for two orchards but nobody can eat them.

I'm finding that once the house with the orchard is full they start to move any excess apples to the granary where the rest of the village will take them.
An orchard isnt a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ apple tree in your backyard. Waste of point dont take it. Actually restarted.
I Have only been able to add it to a burgage plot made after the point was spent on orchard in the tech tree, hope this helps. Remember this is not a finished game

so is it safe to say planting veg in the gardens is the better option for food count?
i've come to the conclusion, between this, people apparently not knowing this is early access, people thinking this is total war, and that guy above me who doesn't understand the free-form housing plots can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ big, that we need to start promoting more literacy in the world

Well it isn't a single tree, it's just based around the size of the upgrade plot. If you plan to add vegetable garden or orchard, make sure the plots are large with a large backyard (the upgrade size goes only towards the back, sideways is only for the extra family expansion) otherwise go for chickens if you want food. All artisan upgrades, chickens and goat upgrades all do not care about the size of the upgrade plot afaik, and of those only chickens and the bakery produces food, goats are for hides (do not make the mistake of expecting meat)

Yup, I am not even sure chicken worth it, as It's seem I don't able to collect more than 2 egg most of time.

if your plot extends from one edge of the territory to another, you'll have a huuuuge orchard lol
Make sure your orchards are large.
I wasn't sure how to build orchards either. It would be very useful if it was in the description that it's an house extension.
Yea I also have a missing slot on the build section not sure if this is intended or some other structure is due to release
It's hard to read, I know.... On the tooltip for Orchard, it even states that until the trees are fully grown which takes 3 years. I had 3 burgages with orchards and had nearly 600 apples. They're not being consumed by people so I still found a use for them - trader!!

Establish a trade route for apples, sell them all! However, even with 4 people in the trade house and 4 horses with hitching posts, it has only been selling 5 apples per trader per month.

That being said, the trader needs adjusted a bit to allow for them to sell substantially more products per run based on how much space said product would take in a cart. If you're selling lumber for example, I could see a trader only being able to take a couple. Apples, on the other hand, are quite small in comparison and weigh a lot less. The trader should be able to take 50-100 at a time with no problem. Similar products that sell in absurdly small amounts per run are meat and berries with the same cap of 5 per run regardless of if I have the coin to purchase substantially more and have it set to wanting 50 surplus.
