Manor Lords
Bandits keep STEALING
I dont mind the mechanic of bandits stealing, especially given the whole premise of manor lord. However it is extremely infuriating that the bandits that steal from me comes from camps outside of my own territory, and therefore I am unable to do ANYTHING to stop them from stealing from me, nor destroy their camp....

you can destroy bandit camps outside your territory. The problem isn't that camps outside your territory steal, the problem is that it happens without any warning/evidence. I just get random messages, but never actually see any units move. If I could stop them mid-act or follow them, it would be much better; if it takes me such a long time to get to the camp at the other side of the map and my army is all tired by then (even without running), then why can bandits from the other side of the map steal without moving?
i took my tiny troop of 16 villagers in the millitia and destroyed the camps around my territory. theft stopped untilk a new camp spawned.

Yeah a lot of people are saying it’s supposed to be “simulated” bandits sneaking in at night. It’s just a random event. I’m also not a fan of that - yes you can proactively destroy camps that pop up but if I’m playing on a more relaxed mode I’d rather not have pressure to go on the offensive until I want to. I don’t think there’s a way around it right now, short of going full peaceful mode.
Right before winter bandits stole 6 bread, then 9 meat, then 12 iron bars. This is aggravating. You cant stop it and its draining my supplies.

Yeah you have to rally some troops and go eliminate their camp. It’s pretty tough on your economy and takes a long time, depending on how far away the camp is. The good news is that you get a lot of influence and wealth from eliminating a camp.
While you can destroy bandit camp, there are 2 improvements that the devs need to add to the game:

1) When deploying a new military unit, you should be able to click outside of your territory, because its confusing and looks like you cant move them there, but you can after they are already deployed, there is no reason to prevent this.

2) Need a new building for city watch, when you assign a family they become city guards, night watch, and patrol the city and kill thieves that walk into your city.

Im getting bandits even with the settings enabled as off… Settings are set as:

End goal none
Off map absent
Raiders none
Initial bandits none
Random bandit 0

Anyone else seeing this?
GO KILL THE DAMN CAMPS ON THE MAP! funny enough, your AI lord (enemy) will often march troops around due to claiming land, as well as some random mercs, they often will encounter the camps and kill the bandits for you. All you have to do then is rally your retinue and then send them to the camp to take back loot and receive silver :)
Realism folks. Usually this indicated you haven't played the game much yet - as soon as you start to get a handle on things you buy some mercs and go trounce the bandit camps.
On another note, when going after bandit camps early on:

Classic Hammer and Anvil tactics always work.

Move your Spearmen Militia to the front in a double line and put them on defensive mode.
As soon as the bandits crash into your lines move your Retinue around the flanks and charge into the bandits from the left/right/rear.

This way you're very likely to lose none or at worst one of your Militamen.

Also, once the battle is over you can collect the spoils from the bandit camp with your Retinue and order your Militia back to town right away to slightly reduce the time needed for them to get back to work.

Despite I am not convinced, try to build your granary and storehouse in close vecinity with market stalls and burges (house). From a theft every 3-4 months in the 1st year to almost one or none in the 4'th year. Maybe building the Manor helped as well...
Yeah, really frustrating that there isn't a visual here indicating that they are in your territory before the steal. I had a clay mine that was right at the other end of my region so it took ages to build it and then transport the clay down. In year 3 I had a total of 22 clay stolen which completely crippled my progress. I really like the bandits, it's challenging and helps break the day up but I would like to see some visuals of them to either intercept them or better yet, defeat them before they set foot in my storehouses
yeah, I feel this needs to be more of a bandit raid event that you could intercept or they come only if camp setup in your region. They spawn way to often across the map stealing my good tools and hard to get items in the beginning of the game.
How many bandits are at these camps your attacking? I got a militia of 20 and the 5 retinue, but the bandit camps have two groups of 18. My puny forces aren't nearly enough.
Please can the dev limit the bandit raids/stealing to be only if they appear in your region, or at worst, the next region to you. being raided from the other side of the map is a joke. takes ages to march your militia across 2 or 3 regions
