How do I get people to work on a construction site?

Someone with an ox has dragged the required timber to the construction site and I have multiple unassigned families but no one is finishing building this building.

I also have another construction site where it has all the material and someone has just started to work on the construction. So I have two building needing construction and three unassigned families, can two construction sites not be worked on at the same time (between the three families)?

If I hover over people not assigned to a job it says ‘Unassigned, Waiting’.

Try increasing the priority of the building construction, that'll help.

Yeah but with multiple families with no jobs other construction shouldn't they be jumping straight on this rather than being 'Unassigned, Waiting'?

OK just assumed if you had multiple families on construction you could have multiple buildings being constructed at the same time.

If they only ever build one at a time there seems little point in ever having more than one family on construction.
