How to get more early game?

Been upgrading my houses to have chicken coops, goat yards, etc but they cost wealth and can't do any more. I assume every month there'd be a tax that would go to the Wealth but doesn't seem to be the case.

Upgrade them to Level 2 to gain Wealth.

Sell planks in the trade outpost. make plenty enough cash to upgrade the back gardens of the houses.

If you're in a scenario with bandit camps, you can get a couple hundred Regional Wealth from clearing them. Just pick the closest town choice. Otherwise, yeah, it's reliant on level 2 and 3 burgages. More Regional Wealth per family in upgraded burgages.

Exporting items/animals at a trading post gives Regional Wealth too.

How do I upgrade houses to level 2? It says requirements not met for me. I have 300 wealth, hundreds of timber, planks, stone etc. What are the requirements?

Trading is the best way, (without fighting) so build a trade building.
