Wheat not being transported to windmill
For some reason I have like 38 wheat in my farmhouse but they wont transport it to the windmill to be turned into flour. Does anyone know if this is a bug or if i'm just doing something wrong?

i think you need to wait a little bit, until the vills working in the farmhouse thresh the wheat, then it can be processed in to flour

Farmers need to make Grain out of it first, the Grain will be brought over to the windmill.

Does not work for me the field is harvested but no sign of it in the farmhouse, and yes I do have a windmill , oven and avail granary, like others have said as soon as the field is cleared they start to replant it even when set on fallow, tried burning field nothing seems to work though strangely I do seem to have a very small amount of bread
The windmill cannot use wheat. The wheat has to be threshed into grain, then the windmill staff can come and get the grain and grind it into flour..

The farmers will thresh their wheat after they have finished plowing and planting the new crop.

Would you rather they thresh the wheat first and risk not getting everything plowed and planted?

Do you have people in the farmhouse still tilling the fields and sowing for the next harvest? They'll prioritize that after threshing the wheat to make grain since they have a limited time to do so.

The farmhouse is full and they field does get seeded again but still no grain thrashing going on that i can see
Set threshing priority to max.

yea did that already
There are so many bugs - sometimes reloading your saved game will fix things.

It's grain that gets turned into flour.
Threshing needs to be 100% complete i.e. no wheat in the farmhouse and maybe granaries.
Farmers will thresh only if all other work is complete.
You can see them doing this, look in the open building.
It might need to be Dec, not sure about this.
Disable wheat, barley, grain storage in granaries, the farmhouse has enough room.
Mill needs to be staffed ideally with 2 as I think it's the miller that transports the grain.

That's what they are supposed to do after clearing the field plow and plant and after that they will thresh the wheat into grain.

Greetings,

Your fields may be a bit too large to allow enough time after the harvest for the Threshing to be done.

If you have smaller or more correctly sized fields they can be completed, harvested, and sown for the next cycle. This allows for the farmers to thrash.

If your fields are too large there is NO time for any other function but tend to the fields.

Bah. 8 families harvested a field of wheat and then two fields of barley. All harvested before Sept ended. Then all was plowed and sowed before Oct ended.

But they left ALL the wheat in the field! They brought some of the barley to the farmhouse but in November, the granary is sending carts to the fields to pick up barley. I'm going to have to re-start. Winter has arrived, with snow, and I get a message telling me that crops are being lost. It tells me how much wheat is in the field. Frustrating.

This is an addendum to the first part. The fault is mine. Before they had brought the wheat in, I made 3 new fields, before they could start plowing the planned fallow fields they had just harvested. The farmers dutifully went to the new fields to plow and sow, without completely bringing in the harvest.

I re-started from a save and allowed them to bring in all the harvest and THEN made the new fields, which they are plowing/sowing on. Now I have to see if they thresh the grain, as usual.

Kudos for coming back and stating that you figured it out on your own. I find that when I run into problems like this, If i investigate i find that I am usually the reason stuff stops working. Well done!

They will wait to thresh the grain until the fields are plowed and sown. After that, keep them assigned to the farmhouse, or at least one or two families, and they will thresh the wheat.
