Rye will be available later in game with upgrade points.
But it is no wheat it is emmer, renaming would be illogical
If you spawned in a fertile region, than you can take your time.
Then change the Crop name to "Emre" and not "Wheat". But you need the same name for consistency.
Having the same resource with different names in different parts of the UI is bad design.
If you want to have different specific names for different types of "Wheat" then do it, but attach ALWAYS the metaname "Wheat" for consistency.
Quick search on the net will tell you that it's emmer wheat.
People tend to shorten it up a bit by just calling it emmer or wheat.
Just for a bit of trivia;
emmer wheat was one of the earliest cultivated grains by humans dating back over 8,000 years.
Good luck with a search for "smell" though,
as that one will be a tad bit harder due to one of the 5 human senses. lol
