Woodcutters Not Cutting Wood
Hi guys I really want to enjoy this game but for some reason my woodcutters just aren't doing anything, which makes that impossible. I have a family assigned to the building and I have a work area set but they just kind of stand around all day, and then when winter comes I don't have fuel and everybody freezes. Has anyone else had this happen to you?

make the work area UNLIMITED.. if you seta work limit area once there are no trees to cut down they just stand there

Maybe they are waiting for an ox to take the wood to another place because their larder is full.

Any time a production facility has full storage production will stop.

Make sure your Storage and Pantry facilities have peeps assigned and they will do their best to keep the production facilities running by transferring goods to market or bulk storage.

Where possible assign a draft horse or oxen to speed up the process.

Yeah it seems transport is this games biggest flaw. I had to set up 2 lumber yards with two wood cutters, both with maxed out workers and two stables staffed with oxen to barely tread water with fire wood. My families would cut the wood, but would take a month or two to take it anywhere.

perhaps assign an oxen to the logging camps? I've seen it helps, or at least do so for the saw pit so planks dun go dead cuz oxen busy elsewhere all the time.

With all the wood based production I've found, when you can afford it, have two of each and split the families between them and they seem to just flow much better.

Just be mindful of having a forester to replant...

Thanks everyone for the advice

Are you talking about the firewood maker? You should give them a forest separate from the logging camp because they'll compete for trees.

Yes, Happens to me as well. Pantry full they wait/go home. I have everything set up two ox with and without manned stall, Heck even put a store house and manned that I assigned only to take firewood and coal, nope didn't work. it just stops after pantry full, And yes cutting area is maxed. It is exactly the same way with the loggers/planker as well, absolutely no other problems but those three (funny just log/trees), But it is a game breaker for me. Might have to leave beta.

This game sucks. Every game I start/restart. Onec that stupid woodcutters lodge storage is full it no longer chops wood, every body dies a horrible death of freezing, EVERY game this happens. With or without mods everything I can think of has been done (max peeps/storehouse/charcoal/foresters/Three friggin woodcutter lodges) in game to try and fix it. NOPE doesn't work. They kick butt up and till it's full then it just comes to a screeching halt.

WRONG, i have a stable two ox, Hell I thought that as well that's why 16 ox, NOPE.

Set up several logging camps (4-6), but assign workers to only one,
then assign oxen to the others that don't have workers.

Storage fills on the un-worked lots, while the workers stay busy on lots that don't collect logs.

Build and staff your storage warehouse near your firewood cutter.

The further your workers have to haul good, the lower your production efficiency will become.

Good to see this bug is still present 8 MONTHS LATER.... another game totally broken.

You guys are talking past each other.

The original question was about the firewood cutter.

Make sure there are still trees in the area where they are supposed to cut.
You can always assign a work area, they will start cutting.

Make sure you have a staffed store house that accepts fire wood.
Make sure there is a market available and the store house is set to have market stalls.
