Day/month timer!
Dev - is there any way you could incorporate a rolling timer over the seasonal clock?. The outer yellow ring could act as a rotating real-time counter. Probably more useful in early game especially, where timing is reasonably critical. monthly roll-overs trigger numerous benefits and bonuses. THanks - LOVE this game!

I even tried it a while ago, but an outer ring over the season icon looked like a season timer, not a day/month timer, so I rolled back that change cause it was confusing. There also was a version wtih simply the day shown as a number but not having it is a bit more immersive.

...just to clarify - a single full rotation would equate to 30 days watching each month progress literally by the day

Thanks for the quick response.
So the current layout atm is great. The season icons are in play and the abbreviated month right next to the icon - perfect {it actually looks really neat and tidy}
If the yellow ring {the outer part of the season icon only} is rolling/rotating clockwise in real time like a yellow bar meter filling up in a circular motion this would illustrate how far through the month we are in real time. When the yellow bar completes its rotation then JAN changes to FEB then to MAR at which point the icon then also changes season in MAR {Spring}

The idea is to help assist with production efficiency {so literally endeavouring to make every day count} like gauging farm work for eg. Anticipating the next tax drop into funds arriving etc. plus few other things im certain.
Atm there is a slight amount of guesswork {i actually use the farmhouse number of days to harvest as a REAL rough timer if i do need to measure lol} but as you can imagine this becomes a constant calculation}

Sorry if it sounds pedantic but i do think it would be a quick useful illustration to really lock down efficiency. it seems logical and useful especially in early game where were tight on resources and manpower. Each new settlement would still warrant its usefulness however.

A minor thing - but i think a very useful one none the less.

Appreciate your response = i sooo love this game. i just bought a new system just to be able to appreciate the beautiful graphics even more LOL {previous was getting abit clunky mid-game ha}

What I have done is use the King's Tax indicator. If one hovers over King's Tax owed icon one sees the day in which the taxes are due, which run on a 365 day clock, and clicks down to 0 and taxes are taken. Then I waited for the month to change and then checked the King's tax for due date and then subtracted from that point. Then on separate sheet of paper I have the first of every month synchronized with the day on the King's Tax, so I know when the next month is to arrived and also how many days I have till the next month.

For most of the year I use days until harvest to give me an idea on where I am in the current month, but I agree that a color wheel around each month would be wonderful.

yeah thats a better idea than the farm thing i do. still....if we did have a rolling timer it would be a quick glance bottom corner which im sure will become useful in everyones playstyle

thats what i have been doing also. but at new settlement stage we cant even do this because farming is a little further into the game so we are still guessing for a little while. I think it would be good for the new player as well to have a quick real-time reference constantly

That's what I have to use too. It's... not ideal, tbh.

I think a day of the month display is an excellent idea. Just make it simple -- MAR21 --> MAR22 --> MAR23 --> etc.

You could ditch that season graphic. I don't think it add anything.

This would be extra helpful those times when the game seems to slow to a crawl just so the player can see that time is actually progressing.
