Population
When my influence goes up to 47 it drops to 40 every time the churchbell rings. Any solutions? I have 22 families and 45 homes all level 2 except 1.

Can't really know unless you hover over it, tell us what the housing levels are in your town. Most causes are:

- Lack of food variety
- Lack of clothing types to reach 3
- Church level low or no church
and
- Lack of ale

Those are the only things you need to satisfy right now to get high approval. Also difficulty affects approval too and there are some other things too. I've even seen "lack of entertainment" but there are no entertainment buildings in the game yet.

Upgrading your burgages increases the happiness needs. When you are under 100% on them your happiness drops. Some of that unhappiness carries over into the "previous" section. At the start of each month your accumulated "previous" determines what your base happiness is for that month. You can not grow population unless you keep, and maintain, it over 50%. If you maintain positives on happiness it will slowly counter the accumulated negatives on "previous".

If you click on your burgages it will list its needs. The diamonds that are not filled in are needs you are not providing them.

Here is my guide on understanding how markets work to fulfill those needs.
