Future game play
I have more hours into this game than I'd like to admit. I've been playing on Conquest for several iterations. I have several times thought, ah, I've got it. This game is easy, I'm going to win easily. It hasn't worked out that way, yet. What it now appears is that to actually defeat the baron, you will have to fully develop the industry of the resources in at least 3, possibly 4 regions.

The issue I'm seeing is that to do this is going to take the fun out of the game by having to repeatedly do the same things. Some kind of component that you could delegate when people relocate jobs (from forage, farming and sheep shearing) to the industry of the region during winter months. It is frustrating to have sent 3 regions of people to the foraging huts and not notice that you've forgotten the 4th (or 5th) because another issue arose. Then a month later you get the notification that food is running out. Once you get behind, it is hard to catch up. There should be someone in the manor of each region to supervise that region.

The royal tax issue has to be resolved. In this build I rule six regions and I try to keep the developmental level as low as possible and still have growth to minimize taxes. There is burgeoning industry in 4 regions and I have kept my original town fed, which becomes daunting at 500 people. I have been trying to keep my approval rating at about 60% in each region to not draw those peasants faster than I can house and feed them. (That too could be a setting to vary the tax per region to keep approval at a specified rate.) For 2 springs now I have been in a negative balance in my treasury and it seems at this point I will never get ahead to challenge another region.

The weird issue of the hunters stopping hunting when the storage is full of hides drives me batty.

That said, I do want to add that though the game can be frustrating at times. It is incredibly enjoyable figuring out how to make the intricacies work together.

"The weird issue of the hunters stopping hunting when the storage is full of hides drives me batty."

Just to share my workaround here is, allow hides in your storage, and sell your excess hides in trader, or turn that hide to leather and sell it both to your marketplace via clothing stall and a trader.
