Update your game to the BETA PATCH to fix many of the issues still being posted.
So many of the current issues being posted are addressed in the 2 beta patches since release. Particularly improvements to TRADE and FARMING mechanics. Whilst still not a perfect game, it makes the game much more playable. But because theyre potentially unstable you have to manually enable the updates as follows:
Right-click on Manor Lords in your library
Select Properties
Go to BETAS tab
Enter the password: veryNiceBasket
Choose "pre_release" from the "Beta participation" drop-down list

Check out the Manor Lords news feed for details of all the changes.

Or be patient and wait for those changes to get tested and moved to the main release and save yourself the tribulations and headaches inherent in a beta version.

You can now allow/forbid your workers to create a stall.
Maybe they're all forbidden to do so?

The market changes/being able to deny certain buildings from the ability to make a stall of their own is great.

Not having veggies/apples/eggs pile up in hundreds/1000's is also great, because they were really broken, although I feel those could maybe have been tuned down just slightly less. There seems to be no need for them to currently even have a giant "pantry" anymore, at any rate.
I don't know why, but the option to download the beta never showed up for me, even after logging out and back in, restarting steam, clearing the cache and everything else. Any ideas why that might be?

It's not the typical opt-in beta. It's a "private" beta, meaning you have to put in the password to gain access, then it will show up in the beta drop down.

The sticky topic re: beta patch notes/update has the info/method.

Got it, I didn't realize that - thanks much!

I am a bit loathe to use a beta patch. Would prefer to wait for it to be pushed out as an official patch by Steam.

Normally I'm in the same boat, but I find myself enjoying restarting this game from scratch regularly, so I'm happy to give the new features a spin.

I personally like to test out and give feedback on new content, so I don't mind beta patches. That being said, this patch is much more balanced and stable than the vanilla game. I would expect this to get a public release rather soon and don't see a downside to using it. It's simply better.

nope. tryed that too. Dunno i guess if you open/close that checkbox it stays closed permanentely. Destroying/rebuilding doesnt help either.

I would take a moment to officially report the bug and I'm sure the dev will promptly fix it, as it's a game breaking one. I've personally not experienced this, nor has anyone else I've spoken to. You don't happen to be using any mods? Was this a fresh game or a continuation of an old game with the new patch? I typically start a fresh game with each update to avoid potential save compatibility issues.
