Comparison to Banished
I'd like to know how this game compares to banished, which had a very interesting initial gameplay, but got repetitive and boring very fast after learning all the aspects. How will Manor Lord make a replayability interesting and how is long term gameplay? Will you start multiple villages and get the to highest level, or will you work on one village for a very long time?

Played the demo, and Manor Lords seemingly will be more complex in it's production ques and building construction options, and it will have many different regions to gain control of, allowing you to build many different smaller villages, and use them to help supply your primary village if that's what you wish (or that's the impression I get), or you could build up many larger villages, too...

Unlike Banished, Manor Lords will also have diplomacy, the level of which has not yet been detailed, but has been confirmed, and will also include smaller scale RTS combat -- think local Lords skirmishing with one another with armies in their tens, to maybe hundreds of soldiers, rather than the thousands of the Total War or Mount and Blade games...

So yeah, much, much more to do and to keep Manor Lords interesting over Banished...

Banished is a fun little game. A city builder with "very easy" mode. It's not really realistic in gameplay and in my opinion way to fast.

I also prefer Forest Village over Banished as it's more difficult and complex.

Also tried the new game Farthest Frontier and it looks great but plays ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for some reason I can't understand myself. I rather play Forest Village over Farthest Frontier.

So the main difference will be the more realistic gameplay in Manor Lords and the RTS Battles - in any scale - will actually provide a purpose for military. Something i miss in all the Middle Age City Builder. Most likely with a mode that disables battles at all "peaceful mode".

The most interesting part will be the complexity regarding the production ques and the development of the village due to it.

Long story short: I don't really think you can compare both games as the general depth of both games is very different.

Interesting, so there is actually a reason to be hyped.

has anyone played manor lords into the "mid" or "late" stage of the game? How does it feel/work?

Only Beta testers, and they'd be under NDA's... The NextFest (I think it was) demo last year was fairly limited, but definitely enough to give a good idea of where Slavic was taking things...

Lets just say the "Hype" is extremely warranted :steamhappy:

I play modded rimworld as my colony sim. And boy it gets hard. Endgame is not fun :D It's hell. But you can tone it down to be fun so you can enjoy rimworld as a colony sim. Plus you can change difficulty at any time which is great.

I think you're in the wrong forum... Rim World has nothing to do with Manor Lords, nor Banished...
