I just came here, been watching videos during my long work week. Was looking forward to giving it a go now that I have a few days off. Guess since we have real lives we can't enjoy things ;)
Having played around 40 hours with several restarts and tests of different starting options (by not following the in game guide) I can firmly say that the game in it's current state came across as EXTREMELY well designed and developed and can already see the labour of Love from Slavic.
I will easily pay full AAA price for this game upon release. My girlfriend who watches me play city builders was astonished at the level of detail and complexity that the Demo offered. The only thing that would make this game even better for us would be multiplayer coop but I can gladly wait another year for that.
Don't be surprised if CA contact Slavic and try and buy his "Game Idea" and implement it into their own Total War games.
And some people cant help but be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ either.
The demo was advertised as being available for free from the 3rd to the 10th. Slavic never changed his mind and took it away, he stuck to what he stated would happen.
These are his own words
"I will be deleting all the info to how to play outside the locked time-frame/download the demo from non-Steam sources etc. and I appreciate all the people who respect my decision and work as a developer."
Now tell me again that he did not take it away.
The following is the very first sentence in the announcement he made about the demo:
"I'm very excited to announce that during the Steam Next Fest (3-10 October) you'll be able to try the citybuilding part of Manor Lords for free!"
This very clearly states that the demo will only be available for play between the specified period of time. He's not taking anything away, the demo period has simply ended. It cannot be any more clear than that.
