there is a bug when you have village wide starvation where all the towns people jsut stand around till they die. like toy soldiers who ran out of fuel lol
Any way to earn silver in this version? In the trader description it says that I need to pay, and I have no idea how to get money. Selling goods?
Sell your surplus goods. For example tools that you not going to use, or leather, cloth etc....
OPs problem isnt that. lumber isnt cutting more trees because therre are too many logs waiting to be transported by an Ox. However there appears to be a bug where Ox' dont collect these logs anymore which basically means you cant get any more wood and in my case I dont have any spare logs to build a new logging camp.
possible causes/solutions
1) The trees aren't being picked up by the ox.
- The ox is busy with hauling logs to a construction site
- no workers are assigned to the hitching post (this may not be necessary as I have seen the ox being used by workers even though I had no designated workers, but I do at least try to select "enable idle laborers" so at least someone will make sure the ox always has a guide ALSO: Moving a building, such as the hitching post, erases your laborer settings so you will need to assign again)
- The ox might be stuck somewhere (use the debug for stuck ox in the settings)
2) The trees themselves are not being cut down
- A few trees may have already been chopped down and are waiting to be picked up by the ox, and the lumberjack doesn't keep chopping down trees that just sit there (the limit is somewhere around 3 by my estimate, so it isn't difficult for lumberjacks to out-run the ox if you have many construction projects going, and too few oxen)
- You have restricted the 'work area' to a specific spot, and there are no *fully grown* trees in the highlighted zone (I never use the designated work areas, I just let them roam free to cut down wherever they like, as it is on default)
- The lumberjack(s) may be stuck somewhere (use the debug boop feature in settings)
3) Construction projects in general are extremely labor intensive. It may or may not be working as intended, but perhaps too many assigned families will leave their jobs to go build something. To help avoid this, do not try to plot too many houses at once. Each house can apparently have up to 7 people building at once, and once a worker leaves his assigned job to go do some 'idle' work, he will not come back until that particular task is finished.
