Workers not working
A ton of them are listed as waiting or procrastinating. I notice this started as soon as I removed people from their work stations, like berries hut during winter. Adding them back on doesnt actually get people to get to working on it again. The worker icon just stays pinging in a radar signaling im trying to get people to work but they refuse to. Cant farm, cut trees, nothing. Is there no management screen? The one on the top says there are people assigned to things like forester but they aint doing nothing

Also I built a plot next to my farm but same thing is happening. No seeds required?

I have played several games for 8 hours. In each game there's always some profession/activity that stops working. Either it's the builders like the OP, or the farmers, or the hunters, etc... During my last try it was the wood choppers and I lost the game cause my 100+ pops died of cold. Sadly there's no save game.
yes i have same issues and cant progress past level 1 hut . once they patch and work out those things the game has great ideas

Yup, the same happened to me after I bought the market area. All workers except the foragers stopped working and just started chilling out back home.

Looks like this will be a really great game, but this was game breaking, so I hope there'll be new demo soon with this bug fixed.

I was able to get tree cutting back...somewhat. I re enabled the idle laborer option and they start cutting again, but its people listed as working other jobs doing it. So im guessing this is taking away from those tasks. Im assuming its a bug, but forced work like rimworld would solve this issue outright instead of hoping automation decides to work

Also noticed that when building new homes the new arrivals are able to be assigned a job. So my people were starving because we had 19 people idling and only 7 working. Until i built a new home and the new recruit was automatically added to the hunting camp - which had been set to all worker slots on ping, only filled with the newly housed people. Its either that or I build more hunting camps and pray those new slots get filled as well. If it works itll be more viable than homes, since the upkeep increases too.

Either way its bugged to hell atm.

I figured out the wandering / procrastinating on my own. It happens when their building is full.
So you have to put storage nearby manned so they can empty it out then the workers will continue doing what they are supposed to do.

I don't think it's a bug, just a matter of figuring out the game. I got up to 300 people and everything was working fine, I just had to have a ton of storage buildings everywhere to keep the working buildings empty so they could keep working.

my storage buildings were far from full. Market stalls yes but not my storage.
I also found it annoying how even though the lumber was right next to the storage, the ox handler preferred to take it all the way to the log camp, only to bring it back down when needed.

Yeah the oxen aren't very good and go further than needed, but not the storage being full but the storage of the building where they are procrastinating gets full, it has to be emptied out into storage by the storage worker.

Also, later in the game oxen aren't an issue I got up to 14 by trading and then you have enough to go everywhere quickly so even if they go long routes they still do good.

Just make sure you have people assigned to the storage building itself so they can go to the stations and empty them back into the storage.

But how can that be when my people were starving so the hunting station for example wasnt full, yet for the longest time it had only 1 hunter stationed there

Hunting isn't very good and the default parameter is to stop hunting when the deer reach 20 population, then you have to rotate off of that until the deer repopulate again. It gets much better with food once you get a wheat farm and start making bread.

Sometimes peasants get stuck, could that be the issue?. There's a DEBUG option in settings to force them to move.

I just had to use it on 2 peasants that were hanging out behind a house they finished building. It said they were procrastinating so I removed all the workers from the facilities they were supposed to be working at and they started doing something else. Then I added the workers back.

Guys, in my case, I was just kiddo, I needed to build more houses, event when people were on "wait" state etc. I dunno whatup :)

I get a problem where each house does one thing so one house does woodcuting one does hunting and so on. So u have to geat a new house for each proffesion also some other houses pick upp the same thing problem is only one of the people in the house actually does the job the rest just waits and builds. So i have about 10 people running around building

I could not seem, to take workers, and assign them jobs, they were just doing what they wanted to do
