Yep... Eventually people will have to accept that they have to move on from Windows 7, especially since Microsoft have all but abandoned all support for it...
It's the same dumb mentality when people clung to XP, it's just delusional why would devs especially ones doing early access waste time supporting a dead OS
I am not saying there is no support for Windows 7 for this game, but I am saying, don't get your hopes up that Slavic will do one either, so. Let's just see what he says.
Rubbish... Absolute rubbish...
Linux still lacks alot of support, with many games not running on Linux, period... Not to mention that it often requires a fair understanding of computers to configure and and get hardware running, making it far from an ideal "progression" from Windows 7 for most people...
The settings people get worked up over can practically all be turned off, leaving it no worse than previous versions of Windows for monitoring user activity...
And then there's the fact the same people who usually piss and moan about Windows 10 breaching their privacy are more than happy to share every minute detail of their existence on Facebook, Twitter, and so on, as well as like and share all the random ♥♥♥♥ they see from other people...
Believe me, Windows 10 is far from the worst invasion of privacy into people's lives today, and the irony is people give away the information freely, without corporations needing to pull shifty crap to get it...
Yeah, and damn the optimisation, right?
Why not throw in support for Windows 98 while we're at it? I'm sure someone's still using that, somewhere?
Heheh ^^ That would be tough.
Warning! Warning! Straman argument detected! Warning!
First of all, you clearly don't get sarcasm...
Secondly, suggesting I only want people to use Windows 10 is frikken stupid... What? Are you trying to suggest I'm some Microsoft shill? *facepalm* Such a moronic suggestion...
No, my entire position is that developers should not be required to cater to fringe, and obsolete OS's, just to satisfy the special snowflakes who insist on using them, making utterly hypocritical and flawed privacy concern arguments to justify doing so...
If a games developer wants to invest the resources to support a small minority of PC users then that's entirely their perogative, but people who decide to use a fringe, or an obsolete OS should not expect, let alone demand support from games developers...
What I want is people like you to stop being so bloody entitled that they demand games developers legitimise your decision by supporting, what is nothing but a fringe OS of your choosing, simply because you want to be some special snowflake standing upto Microsoft...
I want people to understand that making games is no simple feat, and for every new OS supported, alot of additional work has to be done during development, along with post-release support, work that then detracts from the rest of the game -- especially when it's an indie developer -- simply because someone wants to be a special snowflake...
I would entirely understand if Indie developers don't bother supporting Mac, let alone Linux, for this very reason... This has nothing to do with me wanting people to use Windows 10, as your ludicrous strawman argument suggested, but simply because I understand that the effort is hardly worth the potential sales return for many developers, and thus, the game as a whole would potentially suffer for little gain...
EDIT :
As a point, according to Steam's own stats, Linux is LESS THAN 1% of the playerbase at 0.94%...
With Windows 7 being all of 4.7% of the player base...
