For the first prototype I tried to do it like Stronghold, where if you lose the Lord you lose the game, but it got a bit confusing when you rule multiple regions. You also are supposed to play as a the Manor Lord, yet there are multiple Manors you own, leaving the other empty.

There was also a problem that when the Manor was enclosed with a roof, and if player could peek into it, there was a disappointment when he/she realized that you can't peek into every other building. And modelling interior of every building is a bit of a challenge.

But I could consider it again if more people would like this back.

What if you implement something where you can own multiple manors, but instate some kind of person into the manors to run the village, town/castle in your stead. Similar to how Warlords are doing it, similar to mayors perhaps. It'll make the expansion more worth it, capable of trading with your towns to increase funding into your personal account and easier to produce a army for defense.

And aye, modelling interior is a pain in the rear, though I don't think you should model a interior for every building, maybe just for the manor, as a example. But other than that, best to see what works.

I think it’d be cool to have a lord unit, so long as we could choose their gender

An interesting idea is when the lord leads his warriors into battle and leads the attack. And if there is still customization, then this is super cool

Please add Chinese to the game

A lord unit would be awesome to personalize the game even more, you start as a little mayor and get bigger and bigger with conquering more land. Maybe it would be a idea to have the lords & his court move from time to time like the holy roman emperors did. Also it could make it even more realistic and hardcore as you have to hire & equip a guard for your lord, the food consumption of the area where your lord is could also rise to show that his whole court is there. But its your game, design it how you like it and i really wish you the best if luck that you will finish it and we all can enjoy it :)

Sounds cool, but it would take some precious development time from things that might be more important.

instead of showing the interieur of the manor you could simply have the lord by showing a raised banner/flag ontop the manor to show the presence of him there and when enemy units attack the building he would be forced out to defend himself.
I would love to have a lord with family in this game 👨‍👩‍👦💯

Personally I would rather see you look at Crusader Kings and take some pointers from there. It would be great with some context around this, ie actual fiefs and kingdoms. No need to start out there though ;).

id say interrior at this point is less essential so you can put it on hold for now and focus on other more important details. pretty sure players could understand and give you some slack on this one if you ask me.

however, i think having the lord avatar that you have to keep alive would be a cool fun mechanic, even if its just as simple as the one in stronghold for the first early itteration of it (so you can focus more on other things)

I Would like to see the ability for us the player to have our own avatar both male or female choice.
I don't mind not being able to see in building you could have the Character be a King or Queen and when they choose a Area to work from its like the King or Queen is Visiting to help see to its construction and there a Random Lord or Lady npc that randomly wonder about like other npcs have there own ai pathways.
In battles you could have the lords and ladys and the player character act more as a moral booster to the other units and ads another strangigy where you dont want to move your character into harm but also want to keep them on the field to boost there troops.
The player controll character when the player sets a area as there captial manor keep castle thing could also boost that area production or happyness of the citizens too and when the player goes and builds other towns the King/Queen goes like there visting the area witch also will boost the happyness of the people there.

Other then this game looks really detail and very impressive for just you developing it amazing work hon. <3

Perhaps different family members(sons, brothers or parents) can be delegated to rule other manors? A family system?
