Weird audio bug when firing ranged weapon?
So this just happened today after I downloaded the update (20/11/2023) but whenever I fired my gun, the audio would completely cut out except for the sound of bullet shells hitting the floor when firing and I have no idea why this happened.

Using melee weapons and running around and stuff is normal its just every time I fire my gun I'm totally deaf and miss audio cues, is anyone else having this issue?

I've had audio bugs, but not like that. Occasionally skips a shot for me. I'd say verify the files.

ah, yeah I was getting those weird audio bugs too. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game just now. Especially since my games connectivity was tanking for whatever reason. couldn't go an hour without a random server disconnect followed by a Backend error. hopefully I fixed it now though.

If your having audio problems try limiting your threads, I was having this issue alot but it was because my game was putting it at max threads. Check your options in the launcher and put it below your CPU threads

Just bought the game and that was the first bug I encountered. No sound. Just the sound of bullet shells falling to the ground when I use a ranged weapon.

i got the same bug, i was thinking it's because i have several mods, but if people who just bought the game have it, it's maybe not cause of mods

No mods and the audio glitch has been there since release.

It wasn't noticeable until after the class overhaul update, when many old players came back, got good enough that Damnation with randoms is viable, and realised how dependent a player is on audio cues to know what's coming from another room.

Bad players of course, don't experience this problem, so they don't notice how many audio cues are missing at any given time. If I hear one hound but four spawned, it can mean the difference between preparing to dodge/push or pre-charging an ability.

If anyone still gets this, I encountered the bug for the first time after raising my CPU threads from 6 to 7, it went away when I lowered the threads back to 6. You can configure this in the launcher.

Yeah, something with audio is very wrong. If I change audio device options from "Default" to anything else, audio completly freaks out. It sounds like hearing the sound through a CB-Radio transmiter with crackling, beeping and wooshing. I have litteraly only one audio option available, because I deactivated every other audio device I don't need.

I had the bug happen to me in the game I was just playing. The solution I found to fix it was to change my speaker detection to auto detect. It may be caused sometimes by the wrong audio setting being used. Hope this helps a few people.

I've had the audio bug before but it's been happening way too often since the last update.

It went from once every 5-6 rounds to every couple of minutes.
