TL;DR

Thinking about the cost or wanting to wait for a sale? DON'T. The developers deserve every penny. This game is an absolute. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Masterpiece. Stop thinking about it and buy it already. Even more so if you are a fan of the series. This is by far (IMO) the BEST ONE in the entire franchise!

Long Form Review

This game is absolutely, ridiculously, ludicrously good. I'm already on my 5th playthrough of the game, attempting Insanity mode and just... wow. After all the time I spent in it, I started noticing all the small details the game has that you otherwise wouldn't notice unless you started looking for it.
Like, how Leon changes his firearm position in his animations based on how close the enemies are, or how if Leon is holding the Requiem Magnum one handed and fires, his arm gets thrown back in a wide arc. Or if you're in third person with Grace, when you're in safe rooms her face is calm and relaxed, but when you're not in a safe room and wandering around, her face becomes tense and fearful. Or how reloads change depending on how much ammo you have left in the magazine/cylinder of the weapons!

Astonishingly, this game looks REALLY damn good, but it runs EXTREMELY WELL! Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Imagine that?! A triple-A game coming out and it actually is optimized to hell and back and runs super well even on a system like mine with some rather dated components! This game sets the bar and standard we SHOULD expect from a Triple-A game studio that comes out in modern times! This game proves the others of their caliber and resources have NO EXCUSES anymore!

The soundtrack builds up tension extremely well. The sound effects are incredibly well done! Audio in this game is an audiophiles wet dream. Really, its an absolute treat. Just from the audio queues alone you can tell where an enemy is and their distance around corners with how the audio reverberates around the area. Its honestly so inspiring. And for a horror game? Audio in my opinion is the MOST paramount in importance for immersing a player in its horror and world.

I could gush over every little thing I found I enjoyed about the game and ramble on but neither I nor you have time for that. Just buy this game man. Treat yourself!
