My guess is that unless Zola's story is relegated to her own little tab alongside the Karnak Twins mission her story will be put to the side in favor of this new cultists angle.
Thats too obvious why would the enemy escort you to the evac point and not have suspicion... especially fully intact without battle damage... they also stared us down at the beginning and walked past the reject... maybe as the intended ESCORT maybe were traitors too!
Also on replay, its only a shoulder wound that happens while were going up in the elevator she could have seen us coming (cameras) and stabbed herself. Then after the planted sparing us in 1st scene knew we would.... save her.... plus shes totally running around fighting just like us after would not have bled out.

To make this worse, in the lore itself it says she prefers to do maintenance of her aircraft herself... yet is, yet again, unfazed by the corruption we bring onboard. Furthermore, as an individual who is a known smuggler, is it beyond consideration that the forces of Chaos found a friend in her to smuggle artifacts aboard the Mourningstar to corrupt its divine servants? I think it's entirely possible, nay, probable.
From my understanding of 40K men and women are equally sent into the meat grinder as life has little value.
The only restriction may be for hives set for re population for continual warfare, but if there is a set civilian population set aside to be selected for warfare it most likely would favor men as modern warfare does for obvious biological reasons...
I'd ask 1 real world example anywhere in history of just a 50:50 male:female split in managers over active fighters. That would be a fascinating example at the very least of what we have in Darktide.
