That's is all in your head. If you factually do better statistically, then you do better statistically. Even if you "feel bad".
Think about where you feel weak and practice/focus on those parts. Otherwise, I'd just say "play the game" and eventually you'll become better at what you play. As they say, practice makes perfect.
In the same way, you're likely not used to how they kill; Vet and Zealot can get very satisfying one- & two-shots on enemies that Psykers can't really get but that doesn't mean their damage is low. Depending on your build, you may be chaff clear which always "feels worse" to me than chunking a couple of Crushers in a clutch situation but is no less helpful towards the success of the entire run.

Aside that though if you're actually going down playing as any class then that's an indication you really need to learn blocking and dodging properly. Dodging is life in this game. Psyker being generally the squishiest class absolutely needs to solid level of skill with dodging, sliding and blocking.
Just playing will make you improve.
This is why u cant be better.
Most damage means most damage, doesnt mean everything
Do the right thing at the right time, take out the right threat is more important than "number", and this is not a scoreboard will tell u
Forget about Green circle, think about how to make the team survive and success, than u will be better
The best imho: Purgatus staff, Obscurus force sword, Brain Rapture with Kinetic resonance, Venting shriek with creeping flames and Wildfire talent, Empowered Psionics
- Best horde clearing machine + unique ability to kill enemies while being behind cover because to "lock" BR you just have to be in line of sight with the enemy to start charging, after that you can move, or better dash, freely back to cover and it wil continue to charge and kill. Very usefull for your team as you mash firing gunners in single charge with empower stack that anyone else can't deal with because of supression and also snipers that you just look the direction of the laser and boom killed before anyone even notices there's a sniper + at about half of the charge anything exept a Rager smaller than Mutie get's stunned: Snipers, Pox Hounds, Grenadiers, Trappers... I especially like dealing with Hounds with brain rapture as this is the only class that can aproach it and pacify the dog up right or lock it in distance and turn around and continue in your way with great arogance while everyone else runs and dashes away...
The secondary for weapon lvling and bit more fun and Patience K.y.s (dots because autocensor but that's how the character is realy named in Dan Abnets Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogy books) cosplay...:
Assail, Telekine Shield with Dome and Sanctuary, Empower or Disrupt Destiny. Weapon of choice but mainly something good killing elites as Voidstrike staff or gun build
- this one is bit weaker with hordes and you'll more rely on teammates, but assail will always buy you decent distance and clear decent bit of the horde to finish off with melee. Dome Shield with toughness regen is a huge support for your team especially with lot of gunners around.
Other than that my general advice would be do not strictly focus on your damage done (i see you use scoreboard mod) first and foremost the only thing that matters is if you finish the mission, as failiure is a waste of everybody's time. Secondly by my 600h experience with the public match making the best thing you can do for your team is: no.1 kill specials and elites asap and build your builds to that and to be self sustainable (meaning you can clear hordes and elites and survive for a decent time, like building every our weapon to single target thinking you'll be special / elite killing machine is useless because you'll die asap when you'll get separated in a horde). no.2 unnet instantly -it takes under a second not enough to any enemy hits, exept crusher's heavy slam that get's charged by him for ever, will not deplete your stamina that fast. Revive ASAP idealy in group of 2 - with purgatus psyker keep clearing / stunning the horde while the other revives.
I tend to play Quick Matches so, while I enjoy all the staves, I believe the most useful for damnation / Auric is Inferno, Deimos, Brain Bust, Shield, Empowered. It gives you everything you need for close range, Long range, CC, Dots and burst., defense. Really allows for me to fill in where needed for the most impact for the team....but that's me.
Keep with it. IMO it's the most rewarding class to play. Whenever I play my Zealot, Vet, Ogryn it feels like easy mode. There really is nothing like finding your groove with the Psyker. Push yourself and don't give up. Use scoreboard to evaluate your build/play style performance and adjust.

Just place bubble and run the talent that decreases team ultimate cooldown on special kill and you've done 50% of being good psyker.
