Right now I prefer the Chainsword and Chainaxe, but I used to love and still own a top tier Power Sword and still got it as a backup, but the nerfs and constant animation changes spoiled it for me.
The standard Chain Axe works fine for Killing masses but you have to the correct blessings (Headtaker, and Slaughterer) and you have to do heavy Attacks.
The knife, being grossly overtuned, is going to get nerfed eventually. You, and everyone else, might as well get used to using a normal weapon before that.
Force swords are great but I am far more likely to get overrun holding a forcesword than i am with trusty "Catachan Mk IV" Granted Crushers are a challege that'll likely be dealt with by either ability, ranged attack, Grenades or Simply having to Grind through em. (Not an issue in a 1v1 or 2v1 I admit if i don't have Grenadess or sspace to move, 3+ Crushers I expect to go down)
Atm I think the best melee weapon on the Psyker is "Maccabian Mk IV"
As it is switft to deal with hordes and it's stabs are Great to deal with Ragers while still doing decently vs Carapaced Armor.
This is True, a great piece of advice to not waste Plasteel.
Though if it is more ikely to get tier 4 or not I can't say, as it is far harder by the end game to get the tier 1 and 2 blessings given it seem impossible to make weapons below 300 rating.
Yeah, that can become a problem for true completionists out there.
I hope that all of the issues with getting high level blessings, as well as low level ones, gets fixed in the Itemization update.
Also i'm sure that there are many more "the only good measurements" out there. You know opinions, arseholes and the saying.
ps. It's hilarious that you are pathetically trying to pass your twisted speed - broken knife addicted gameplay as normal in every opportunity you get. Try harder.
umm...
the powersword has slightly more stagger per hit than a devil's claw sword or a shovel and it swings a fair bit slower
for body/weakspot
powersword MK III and MK VI 7/10 light 12/19 heavy
devil's claw 6/12 light 9/20 heavy
shovel 5/8 light 17/22 heavy
i can respect your opinion about how powerful it is, even if I don't agree, but claiming unactivated powerswords have higher than average stagger is simply not mathematically true
It's not negligible, especially with Slaughterer. Using a combination of light attacks, heavy attacks and the usual block, push combo leads to excellent crowd control against Unarmoured, Flak Armoured and Infected enemies.
I'm not saying it's as powerful as, say, the Thunder Hammer or other dedicated stagger weapons, but it actually is effective enough to play a part in how many times you actually need to dodge attacks as opposed to weapons where you constantly need to dodge due to the weapon not having any stagger what so ever.
These two factors combined leads to the low mobility of the Power Sword not really being much of an issue in the hands of someone who has learned to play to the weapon's strengths rather than idealizing one aspect of the weapon, namely: The activation.
