Is this game good for a single player?

I am considering buying this game but I am worried as to whether I can enjoy as much as the game provide since I do not have a gaming friend (ie i am a single player). Please advise! Is the campaign good? If there is a multiplayer mode, can I be enjoying without having existing gaming friends?

There is no campaign, you are playing random missions that are loosely tied into a vague narrative, you are forced to play with random people no matter what, unless you have at least 1 friend to play Private Match.

There is no campaign, and they promised to release a Solo mode, but didn't.

There is only random missions with random players.

There is no campaign mode. This is a co-op horde shooter that you play in non-linear fashion, going through various missions that have no specific story order to them. Like in Deep Rock Galactic.

This game is only played with other people, so either you need to find regular groups to play it with or just rely on random matchmaking.

2. The story is not very good, I don't think anyone really plays it for the story though.
3. Multiplayer Is like rolling dice when playing with randoms.

I recommend "Deep Rock Galactic" if you haven't played that yet.

Yes, there even is a dedicated build for solo play, it's called Stealth knife Zealot, look it up.

Do you mean as in solo play with bots, or are you fine with random people in pub games? For the first option, no since solo mode doesn't even exist (it can be modded in but with no official support I can't imagine it would be any fun). For the latter option, I'm in the same boat. I've made some friends in the game but I play alone like way over 95% of the time.

If you don't mind playing with randoms, I suppose it comes down to how you feel about that in general. I have ADHD so I absolutely love playing with randoms in every game. I don't need to wait around for others, I can stop or take a break or go craft or test builds at any time. And when I do play, friend teams tend to be extremely boring because Darktide just isn't challenging enough for that on top of friend games just being the same and predictable in general. But with randoms you never know what you're gonna get, every game is different, full of surprises and things to keep me entertained. Sometimes they go badly, and most people aren't that good at the game, but despite all that it's just tons of fun for me.

From that PoV, Darktide is one of the very best coop games I've ever played. I usually stick around any game for idk 50-200h and get bored and move on. I have over 2k hours in this game since release, that's like... more than I've ever played any game I outside FFXIV think. xD So if that sounds like something you might like, go for it!

I play mostly solo and it's fine. However, the game is full of broken placeholder systems that are really not enjoyable to interact with, and I would strongly suggest waiting until they're fixed.

You do play with others, but it's a great game to play like that. People are cool and the game works well playing with randoms. You don't need dedicated friends to play with at all.

Without modding your game, the game is multiplayer only and will match you with random players to play with. You can largely ignore people on these forums and any negativity they bring (myself included if you'd like), pubs in-game are pretty chill and generally fun to play with.

Im playing the Game alone with only randoms as well and overall im having fun since ~140 Hours

I've only ever PUG'd aside from maybe 6 matches out of my 750+ hours and have had a blast (majority of the time).

This game is excellent without friends. The vast majority of players are just like you.
