Please FIX: after the patch, framerate drops to unplayable
After the latest patch the game is totally unplayable, freezing with a framerate that is sick at the point I had to quit the match to avoid headache or motion sickness. What the heck is this problem?

I read that ppl complaining about this just played some mish to rebuild the shader cache? Seriously, what kind of a sadistic torture is this? I ain't planning to play and feel sick.

Please fix this asap, I don't wanna be forced to supposingly play with sickness to rebuild a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shader cache or whatever it is.

Yeah, no patch has ever caused such severe stuttering before, but like others have said, it goes away after a few missions. Could jump into some T1/2 games, or wait for a possible hotfix.

Hi mate, I think to avoid the torture, I will wait for a hotfix.

With love

Stuttering like crazy too! Game drivers are up to date

Stuttering is a shader cache reinstalling issue which is present for some silly reason

for me it went away in around 5-10 minutes. Depending on the quality of your hardware time will vary, but it will go away shortly.

How to find the User_settings file in Darktide
Type "run" in the search bar on windows and then activate the program called "run". Now you can type %appdata% and then press enter. This will open up the file folder where you can find the folder "Fatshark". Inside there you can open the user_settings.config with Notepad and turn off the RTX options.

And here is how it should look like when it is completely turned off according to Firestrike9.
• rt_checkerboard_reflections = false
• rt_light_quality = false
• rt_mixed_reflections = false
• rt_particle_reflections_enabled = false
• rt_reflections_enabled = false
• rt_shadow_ray_multiplier = 0
• rt_transparent_reflections_enabled = false
• rtxgi_enabled = false
• rtxgi_scale = 0

enable gpu acceleration in windows also helps

It's a shader cache issue, due to an error in the code of the patch. It goes away after you have played one map through as the shaders load in real time as you play and trigger the loading.

I had the stutters too yesterday in my first mission after patching, and then performance was back to normal.

My system is minimum spec and thus so are my graphics, pretty much. The stuttering ceased after half a mission.

I thought i was going to have to drop out of the first game ( i reinstalled after the latest update) due to the fps stuttering but ti started to smooth out as the mission went on. Not sure if that happens every game or not though...ill find out soon..

This was a fix that was circulated early on in the game's release. It doesn't apply to the current build of the game. Some of these posts also mentioned to make this file read only which is a bad idea for a few reasons.
