There are a lot of people who enjoy it, so it doesn't suck generally.
But it is true that since launch, let us be honest, beside the still pretty basic crafting feature which has been added, there is no new content to the game. Only some tweakings and ballancing patches. Which is actually sad, considering that Vermintide definitely got a new event.
Be honest now, even if they released a new map or class every quarter like was the initial plan, would that really change anything for you? It's still very little extra compared to what we already have. Granted over time it will pile up, but the point is still the same: this game is supposed to be fun to play just by rehashing the same maps over and over and over, testing out different builds on different classes playing different modifiers. If that doesn't work for you, I doubt it ever will.
Me, I'm having loads of fun even now, 4 months later.
"Ok we'll fix it instead of putting out more bad stuff"
GAME STILL BAD, NO NEW BAD STUFF
It's a Live Service. Those always develop slower than they should. I'm personally still very annoyed we still don't have solo play or decent bots. That right there is inexcusable to me.
The store isn’t updated
And there are a truckload of unused cosmetics and alternative skins for the current free cosmetics fs are just refusing to make available.
No, thank you. I'd rather buy cool-looking armour skins in a microtransaction shop than earning them. I would much rather drop a few €$ on a skin than, for instance, try to go through an entire Malice mission without taking melee damage, or play on Heresy difficulty despite not enjoying the experience, or... Oh, how about parrying a monster three times, then killing it without taking any damage?
Achievement-locked cosmetics are far, far, FAR worse for me than just buying stuff in he Market. At least with the latter, I get to play and enjoy the game, instead of trying to pull off silly stunts that don't even work all that well with the game's mechanics.
The way darktide does it is bad.
Adding "new stuff" to the mix doesn't change anything if you think the game is bad in the first place.
Adding new weapons or maps will not change the fundamentals of this game. You'll always just run along a corridor to a horde room, to corridor to another horde room, while murdering npcs.
You can dress the corridor as outdoor industrial area, or server system, or cliff side... it's always going to be a corridor. And you can add mcguffin objectives into the horde room, where you have to scan X or carry X or wait for X... or kill a boss while the Horde spawns.. ultimately its still just a horde room.
If you don't enjoy dispatching enemies and running through corridors and horde rooms, you will not find more enjoyment in new gamemodes, maps or weapons.
